Format for boys: In 2013, the boys tournament introduced a new format after considering several suggestions from participants and parents. The score that is turned in with registration will be used for first-day pairing purposes. The 14-18 boys will be spread among three courses the first day -- Rockwood, Pecan Valley Hills and Meadowbrook -- and will tee off in a shotgun start at 7 a.m. Boys should be at their respective courses by 6:30 a.m. The low 120 (approximate depending on ties) scores from the three courses will form Division I and Division II. After the second round, the Division I players will form the Championship and First Flights; Division II will form the Second and Third flights. Others will form flights beginning with the Fourth and will compete in single-elimination match play until the final day when the finalists will compete in stroke play. The 13-younger boys will play at Sycamore Creek G.C. each day and follow the old format: first-day scores will determine flights, which will be single-elimination match play starting the second day. The 12-13-year-old players will play longer holes than the 8-11 players.
Awards will be presented at the Ben Hogan Learning Center at Rockwood.
If we haven't heard from a boy after our the final posting, it's assumed we have all the entries. We update the list three to four times a week. Boys 14-18 who want to play in the tournament but failed to register are allowed to walk on Monday at Meadowbrook G.C. and fill out an entry form. Boys 8-13 can walk on at Sycamore Creek G.C. Walk-ons should show up by 6:30 a.m. and check in with the starter, who will insert them in when there are openings.
Registration begins May 1
